COMPANY HISTORY

Avenue Title Group ("Avenue") is an umbrella trade name encompassing two separate companies, each targeting different customers. Avenue Settlement Corporation ("ASC") is a traditional title firm founded by David S. Jenks in 1997 to handle upscale residential transactions. In addition to its core business of residential resale closings primarily coming from realtor referrals, ASC closes residential closings of outsales of small and medium-sized condominium conversion projects for which Jenks has acted as conversion counsel, and closes residential refinance transactions which come from (1) buyers of property where ASC did the acquisition closing; (2) referrals from lender sources; and (3) his contacts at Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge, his former law firm. Over the past 8 years Jenks has served as the counsel on over 100 condominium projects.

Avenue Commercial Title Company, Inc. ("ACT") is a commercial transactions closing company founded in 1998 by Laurence Roscher, David S. Jenks and Mark A. Lobar to handle acquisition and refinance commercial transactions. Its sources of business are widespread across the lender and developer contacts of Roscher, an active commercial real estate law practitioner, and of Lobar, who has been in the real estate closing industry closing both residential and commercial transactions since 1970, and of Jenks, who regularly gets requests for commercial closings as a natural consequence of ASC’s core business. Both ASC and ACT are exclusive agents of Chicago Title Insurance Company.
